Trauma Therapy Referrals for Medical and Wellness Providers
When symptoms persist, trauma is often underneath. I work alongside medical, nutrition, and neuromodulation providers to treat the nervous-system side of what you are already treating, so your care can do its full work.
I’m Shay DuBois, LCSW, a trauma and anxiety therapist offering telehealth across California and in-person intensives in San Diego. I specialize in attachment trauma, the root of so many presenting issues, with a focus on people-pleasers and professionals facing burnout.
Patients I Can Help You With
Primary care & nurse practitioners
Anxiety, insomnia, burnout, or physical complaints that haven’t fully responded to medication.
Functional medicine & nutrition
High ACE scores, chronic stress, or health that stalls despite a solid protocol. I completed the year-long Biology of Trauma Professional Program, so we share a framework.
TMS & neuromodulation clinics
Trauma processing alongside treatment. I’m trained in Neurofeedback, so we speak the same language.
Ketamine prescribers
Preparation, in-session support, and integration for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), coordinated with the prescribing provider.
Why Brainspotting
Brainspotting works directly with the brain and body to process what talk therapy can circle for months. Many clients make meaningful shifts in weeks, so a higher rate up front often means fewer total sessions, lower total cost, and less time in therapy.
Brainspotting can also sharpen performance for professionals, athletes, and creatives who want to work at their best.
Other approaches I use include somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems (parts work), Compassionate Inquiry, KAP, and Neurofeedback.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
As a Certified Somatic Psychedelic Facilitator (Embody Lab), I provide the therapy side of KAP while the prescribing provider manages the medicine. A first KAP series includes:
- An intake session
- An intention-setting session
- A 3-hour dosing session with somatic support
- An integration session
Follow-up KAP sessions are 4 hours. If you prescribe ketamine and want a skilled integration partner for your patients, I’d welcome a conversation.

My practice is private pay, and I do not bill insurance. The rate is the same regardless of modality.
