Meet Shay

Hi, my name is Shay. I grew up with a parent who struggled depression and chronic health issues, the other PTSD.  I thought I was just an anxious person and never knew what it was like to feel calm.  Therapy saved my parents lives.  Therapy helped me know I’m not an anxious person.  Helping people heal from trauma and anxiety is my PASSION.

Through trauma-focused therapy in San Diego, I help teens and adults who have experienced abuse, neglect, pain, and trauma reawaken to their life and discover who they are, what they love, and how they can be at peace once they heal.

Therapy with me is, above all, a gentle process. Everything I do centers on compassion. That way, as we work together, we can ease you back into connection with yourself first and then with others and the world.  I know healing is possible.

All trauma-focused therapy sessions take place virtually. That way, when you meet with Shay, you do so from the comfort of your safe space. Whether it’s your home, your car, or any other private location where you feel at peace—Shay can meet you wherever you need her.

Leading With Learning

Shay began her career in clinical social work as a case manager. Trauma, Anxiety, Depression—her time in social work exposed her to incredible clients, all fighting to get better, who needed more support than she could provide in her role. This inspired her to start her work in clinical therapy and develop her now flourishing practice offering trauma-focused therapy in San Diego and across California.

Shay is trained in several trauma-focused therapy models, such as Compassionate Inquiry, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, somatic-focused therapy, Neurofeedback, and Interpersonal Neurobiology.
