What to Expect

The Somatic Therapy Process

Step One

During your short, one-on-one consultation with Shay, she can determine whether somatic therapy is something that could help in your unique healing process. Most often, Shay can combine elements of somatic therapy with other treatment techniques.

Step Two

During somatic therapy sessions, Shay will gently reference your body language, physical sensations, and connection to your body as you describe adverse feelings or processes through traumatic memories. These physical reactions can help tell the story of your emotions.

Step Three

Somatic therapy results and timelines look unique for every client. To start, Shay will meet with you once or twice weekly. Over time, you may decide to take more time between sessions.
